Biography

Le Xie, Professor at the National Digital Manufacturing Technology Center of Shanghai Jiao Tong University, adjunct professor at Institute of Medical Robotics of Shanghai Jiao Tong University. Assistant dean of Institute of Medical Robotics, Deputy Director of Rehabilitation Engineering Institute.

Carried out research on medical robots (including surgical robots and rehabilitation robots) for nearly 20 years, developed minimally invasive abdominal surgical robot, plastic minimally invasive surgical robot, vascular interventional surgical robot, kidney intrarenal interventional surgical robot, ENT surgical robot, upper limb rehabilitation robot, lower limb rehabilitation robot, upper and lower limb cooperative rehabilitation robot, etc.

He has successively presided over national scientific research projects in China including: 1 project of Major Program of National Nature Science Foundation of China, 4 general projects of the National Natural Science Foundation, 2 international cooperation and exchange projects of the National Natural Science Foundation of China; 1 Key Project of National Science and Technology Pillar Program(Support Plan) of China; 1 project of National High-Tech Research and Development Plan (863 Plan) of China; 1 project of National Technology Innovation Fund for small to medium-sized enterprise in China.

He also serves as the deputy chairman of the Digital Medicine Branch of the Chinese Medical Association, the deputy chairman of the Medical Simulation Branch of the Chinese Simulation Society, the Committee Member of Bio-manufacturing Engineering Institution of Chinese Mechanical Engineering Society, the Committee Member of of the Biomedical Information Technology Branch of the China Medical Biotechnology Association, Deputy Secretary-General of the Innovation Strategic Alliance of Chinese rehabilitation aid industry technology, Chairman of the Medical Robotics Committee of the Shanghai Society of Biomedical Engineering, and Executive Vice President of the Shanghai Innovation Alliance for Rehabilitation Aid and Elderly Welfare Industry Technology.

He has published more than 100 academic papers as corresponding authors. As the first inventor, he applied for 34 Chinese invention patents, 28 of which were authorized. As the first developer, he obtained more than ten software copyrights.

As the co-chair of the conference, he organized the 2 Oriental Science and Technology Forum: "Basic Theory and Key Technology of Medical Robot", "Basic Theory and Key Technology of Virtual Surgery Simulation and Evaluation". As the co-chair of the conference, he organized 8 conference of "International Rehabilitation and Medical Engineering Conference" and 3 Seminar of "China-Switzerland Bilateral Seminar on Cross-Technology of Medicine and Engineering".
