On July 10, the first phase of the NeoBay Robotics Forum (NRF) of the Institute of Medical Robotics (IMR) was held in the Lecture Hall, 5th floor, Building 5 of Zizhu Science Park, No. 555 Dongchuan Road, Minhang District, and the ZOOM online platform simultaneously. NRF is a new academic platform launched by IMR, aiming to interpret the cutting-edge research results of robotics and discuss future development directions.
Associate Professor Chongchao Wu presided over the academic report
This forum was presided by Chongchao Wu, Associate Professor of IMR@SJTU. Professor Guang-Zhong Yang, Dean of IMR@SJTU, gave an academic report on “Grand challenges of robotics”; Associate Professor Li Zhang from the Department of Mechanical and Automation Engineering, Chinese University of Hong Kong, gave an academic report on “Biohybrid magnetic microrobots for image-guided therapy”. After the reports, on-site and online audiences conducted in-depth discussions with the two professors on the content of academic reports and hot topics of medical robotics.

As a high-level academic platform, NRF will hold a series of activities such as cutting-edge academic reports, Science Robotics paper interpretation, experts’ opinions, and industry elite exchanges. The forum will continue to enhance academic influence at home and abroad, and promote global exchanges and cooperation in the field of robotics.
