Biography

Sun Jielin graduated from the Department of Physics of Wuhan University in 1991, received a master's degree from the Shanghai Institute of Optics and Fine Mechanics of the Chinese Academy of Sciences in 1994, and received a doctorate from the Shanghai Institute of Nuclear Research (now the Institute of Applied Physics) of the Chinese Academy of Sciences in 1998. During 1998-2000, He was a Postdoc at Shanghai Institute of Optics and Fine Mechanics, Chinese Academy of Sciences. In August 2000, Professor Sun joined the Department of Biomedical Engineering, School of Life Science, Shanghai Jiao Tong University, and is currently a researcher/director of the Public Experimental Center of System Biomedical Research Institute at SJTU. In 2002, he went to the University of Virginia School of Medicine to visit and study; in 2007, he went to Japan Institute of Industrial Technology (AIST) to visit and study. At present, his main research directions is scanning probe microscope methodology, single-molecule nanobiophysics and nanometer detection technology standardization research. So far, nearly 60 academic journal articles have been published and more than 20 patents have been applied. He has presided over more than 10 projects of various types, including: three National Natural Science Foundation projects, one Youth Fund project, one Shanghai Science and Technology Commission Nano Special Project, etc. Now he is Secretary-General of the Scanning Probe Microscope Working Group of the National Nanotechnology Standardization Technical Committee and Deputy Secretary-General of the Shanghai Society of Microscope.
