Biography

Prof. Chongzhao Wu is an Associate Professor at Shanghai Jiao Tong University. He received B.S. degree from Fudan University, Shanghai, China in 2010 and Ph.D. degree from Lehigh University, Pennsylvania, US in 2016. He performed postdoctoral research at Columbia University, New York, US. His research interests include terahertz and mid-infrared photonics, biomedical imaging and sensing, metasurfaces and optoelectronic devices. He has published in journals such as Optica, ACS Photonics, Nanophotonics, APL Photonics, Nature, Nature Communications, Optics Express, and presented on CLEO, IEEE Photonics Conference, SPIE Photonics West, IRMMW-THz, IQCLSW. He serves as the Early Career Editorial Board of Photonics Insights. His research has been reported by Science Daily, Phys.org, Optics and Photonics News, US National Science Foundation (NSF). He is the recipient of Shanghai Jiao Tong University Excellence in Mentoring Award and Outstanding Teaching Award, Baker Institute Innovation Prize, Packard Fellowship, SPIE Travel Award, Rossin Doctoral Fellow, Sherman Fairchild Fellowship for Solid State Studies and Forbes 30 Under 30 in China 2019. The undergraduate course he is teaching has been honored as one of the top first-class courses at Shanghai Jiao Tong University. He is the PI of more than 14 research projects funded by National Natural Science Foundation of China, Natural Science Foundation of Shanghai, Shanghai Young Scholar Sailing Foundation et al. Student members from Prof. Chongzhao Wu’s group have been awarded the Outstanding Graduates Awards in Shanghai and Shanghai Jiao Tong University.
