The 2020 Academic Forum of Institute of Medical Robotics will be held in the Translational Medicine Building of Minhang Campus of Shanghai Jiao Tong University (SJTU) and also on the ZOOM from December 14 to 16. Government leaders, well-known experts, young scholars and business elites from all over the world are invited this time to give reports on the latest research progress in the field of medical robotics, and to discuss on the technical challenges, opportunities and development trends. It aims to promote collaborative innovation among governments, academic institutions, hospitals and enterprises, boosting the international academic exchanges and cooperation in the field of medical robotics.

The Institute of Medical Robotics in Shanghai Jiao Tong University (SJTU) is an multidisciplinary platform established by SJTU in 2017. The Institute, implementing the national strategy of “Healthy China”, is committed to international cutting-edge research for the major medical needs of the people. Focusing on intelligent, precise, minimally invasive diagnosis and treatment robot technology for major diseases such as cancer, cardiovascular, and stroke, the Institute carries out basic, applied, translational and clinical research on medical robotics. It involves different disciplines such as Biology, Medicine, Machinery, Material, Information, Control, and Computer, and integrates research, education, development, clinical trial, translation and services. The main research interests include the fundamental research in micro/nano systems, perception and cognition, bioinspired systems, and smart materials, as well as the applied research in surgical robotics, rehabilitation and assistive robotics, image-guided intervention, mechatronics.
