“Look up to the stars, keep your feet on the ground”

In 2024, I had the honor to join the Institute of Medical Robotics of Shanghai Jiao Tong University, and started my PhD career under the guidance of Prof. Guangzhong Yang and Associate Prof. Yao Guo, focusing on the research in the field of microsurgical vision and robotic operation.

The Institute is precisely anchored in the international frontier of medical robotics research and closely aligned with the strategic needs of the national high-end medical equipment industry. Being in such a research group with a strong sense of mission and foresight, I deeply realize the great responsibility I have to shoulder. As a newcomer in scientific research, the Institute has provided me with sufficient hardware and software research resources, which enables me to carry out all kinds of experiments with high efficiency and realize my ideas quickly, which greatly stimulates my creativity and enthusiasm, and steadily improves my scientific research ability; I have also greatly benefited from the many lectures held by the Institute. In the daily working environment, I have the opportunity to contact with excellent researchers from all over the world, which has broadened my horizons of multidisciplinary research; the mentors and friends I have made here are even more valuable assets on my way forward. Every bit of progress is inseparable from the patience of my mentors and the enthusiasm of my classmates. In the Institute, I not only feel the spark of the collision of ideas in scientific research, but also feel the warmth of caring for each other in life. It is this rigorous, efficient, open and harmonious environment that enables me to move forward on the road of scientific research without distraction.

In the future, I will be calm and quiet, and continue to delve deeper and deeper into research at my own pace, while at the same time actively and proactively carry out collaborations, and strive to make more valuable and creative scientific research work, so as to contribute to the development of the Institute and the progress of the surgical robotics industry!
